From the moment
I was born, on August 29, 1983, I was destined to
be in the music industry. It all began around 5th grade when
I had a two-man band with one of my neighbors. This faded
away naturally with time, and I started another band in
7th grade called "King Friday." After
practicing for months, we recorded two
EP’s at The Chicago Recording Company. Later,
we played gigs around town and even set up a young bands
festival at a local church where we headlined. This drew
a large crowd of teens eager to hear our music.

In High School, I switched
over from rock to rap. At 16, a friend
and I decided to start a small rap group. But even after gaining
notoriety at our school, we split-up and I went solo. The only
problem was that I couldn’t come up with a fitting name
for me as a rap artist. One day, I was complaining to my mom
about something and she told me to just live
on an island where I wouldn’t affect other people.
The name stuck with me.

| I’m currently at Northern Illinois
University where I’ve completed three
rap albums thus far since my career began. One of my singles
off of my latest album, "Lost N’ Found," was
on the internet radio station’s top ten most requested
songs on campus. I was also in a contest last summer called "Chicago
Idols," set up by a Chicago urban station, WGCI.
Even though they were looking for singers, I made it to the second
round rapping live in my audition for a panel of judges including
Kanye West. |
| STYLE: My style ranges from track
to track. Generally, the label most would place on my music is
rap/pop. If a comparison had to be made, one could say I’m
like a "White Ludacris," even though I don’t
think I sound like anyone else in the industry right now. Most
of my material is very upbeat and ever ready
to be played at the club. I have many different talents
ranging from playing guitar and drums, all the way to hip/hop
beat production. I’d like to think I’m the all
around musician, not just rapper. |

GOAL: The goal I’ve set for
myself as a musician is to eventually go platinum. As anyone
knows, the music industry is currently in a slump and desperately
needs a jumpstart. I would be selling
myself on my image (the white kid from the suburbs who’s
not poor) or even, the "Next Eminem." My music also
has a different type of sound mixing singing
and rapping with catchy choruses and beats, solely produced
by me. I believe I would appeal to the masses and add a much
needed new flavor in the market.
This is what everybody’s been waiting to hear. |
