MISSION STATEMENT
The Evanston/Skokie Council of PTAs shall
advocate for all children, fostering the education of the whole
child by:
Providing communication -
gathering and disseminating pertinent information and organizing
networking
opportunities among all schools in Districts 65 and 202
Offering
parent education - providing information
on parenting as well as on issues related to education
Encouraging political action
Serving as
a forum for discussion of local
PTA issues
Taking stands on issues that affect the
whole child and promoting those stands throughout the community
Developing
strong working relationships with the
school boards, the district administrations, parents and guardians,
as well as the community as a whole

The Evanston/Skokie
Council of PTAs is the umbrella association for all school PTAs
and PTSAs in the area served
by School Districts 65 and 202. Council member schools include
elementary, middle, and magnet schools; Park School and Evanston
Township High School. The Evanston/Skokie Council is an active
member of District 21 of the Illinois State PTA, which allows
for the exchange of ideas with other PTA councils in north
suburban Cook County and around the state.
The primary functions of the Evanston/Skokie
PTA Council are
1) to gather and
disseminate information among member PTAs from local, district,
state and national PTAs, from the school boards and district
administrations, as well as from other sources;
2) to provide for networking and the exchange of ideas; and
3) to produce parent/community programs.
