COUNCIL FOR EXCELLENCE IN LEARNING
The Council for Excellence in Learning
(CEL) is a newly created advisory body to the District 65 Board
and Administration This
document was discussed at three District 65 Board meetings
and approved with a one year sunset provision at the Board
meeting on September 13, 2004.
The major purpose of this body is
to assist the Board and Administration in their planning and
decision making by providing advisory input representative
of the divergent viewpoints of the various stakeholders in
the District. CEL has been created to provide an opportunity
for proactive information gathering and discussion of District
issues well before any Board votes must be taken or Administration
decisions must be made. CEL will begin meeting in November
2004, with initial discussions focusing on program priorities
as part of the budget planning process for the 2005-06 school
year
